A Construct

A Construct begins with the photographic documentation of everyday common buildings and structures which I then reconstruct into scale three dimensional forms built directly from the printed photographs themselves. Once these models are complete they are then photographed once more and presented as traditional framed two dimensional images representative of the original scene as I have viewed it on site at the beginning of the process. Each image is carefully balanced so as to subtly hint at the process which has taken place.

Through undertaking this laborious and very particular process the final images themselves highlight the construction, editing and the artists perspective evident in any photograph, and questions the common perception of the photographic image as a portrayal of truth.
